Bird and Co Creative, a Worcestershire-based company specialising in creative graphic design and web design, has announced that it is to sponsor professional flat jockey Royston Ffrench. The sponsorship deal, which will see Ffrench wear the Bird and Co logo on the racecourse, comes after the agency designed a new website for the jockey and firmly establishes Bird and Co’s reputation as a specialist equine design company and its commitment to supporting the racing industry.

Bird and Co Equine Design specialises in designing websites for jockeys, trainers and horse racing teams. The company has an in-house team of graphic designers and web developers able to create exciting websites that cater to the specialist needs of the racing industry. Previously, Bird and Co has worked with high profile industry figures including multiple Classic-winning flat trainer Mark Johnston and champion jockey and National Hunt Racehorse Trainer Jonjo O’Neill. In addition to sponsoring Royston French, the company also sponsors Favourites Racing and West Midlands Pony Racing.

Craig Bird, Managing Director of Bird and Co said: “Bird and Co are delighted to sponsor Royston. Not only is he a highly respected professional in the weighing room but a genuinely nice guy. I’m looking forward to us both forming a winning partnership”. Ffrench recently recorded his first win under his new sponsorship, riding Sabatini at Wolverhamption on the 26th of September 2010.

Royston Ffrench has been called “the first great black jockey”, an “ambassador for the new generation” and the “Tiger Woods of the horseracing world” by other jockeys and racing pundits. Ffrench recently won the German Derby in July 2010 riding Buzzwood, becoming the first British jockey to win the event, and earlier in the year won the Dubai Duty Free at Meydan. Following the signing of his sponsorship deal with Bird and Co, he is set to spend the winter in the heat of Dubai where he will compete in a number of high-profile events, culminating in the famous Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horse race, in March 2011.
