Gareth Robinson, managing director of Carrentals.co.uk, says, “While it is sad to hear of 1Car1’s troubles, more than anything for the company’s staff, it does show what a tough sector car hire is. The industry is bearing the brunt of the credit crunch as fleets, costs and customers take the hit, so we will see that only the strongest companies will survive.”
