In the wake of recent news story by Miyoung Kim published on November 19 on reuters.com regarding Samsung Electronics’ statement on Tuesday that its Galaxy Gear is now the globe’s most popular smartwatch with sales hitting 800,000 since its launching two months ago, DigitalOlympus.com comments on the promotional efforts of the smartwatch maker.

According to the Reuters report, the Galaxy Gear sales resisted some market concerns that the accessory will be unsuccessful as a result of the absence of fascinating features. However, the South Korean company declared Gear sales has exceeds its forecast and it would increase sales promotions for the wearable accessory for the important year-end holiday sales.

Furthermore, the Reuters report points that Samsung has invested marketing resources into the Gear with aggressive advertisements and partnership with fashion shows to dominate the wearable device market after the device got off to a stumbling start after being severely criticized by reviewers.

“Samsung’s collaboration with fashion shows might have reflected in its Gear sales, but the firm may need to do more to extend its business reach,” says DigitalOlympus.com spokesperson. “Samsung can as well work with third party consultants that render due diligence services to enable it obtain useful information in promoting its Galaxy Gear.”

The Reuters news article concluded by citing Samsung saying “It’s the most sold wearable watch available in the market place…and we plan to expand its availability by expanding mobile devices that work with the Gear.”
