Kickstarter Product Launch – The DRC (Desktop Record Cutter) – a future for vinyl cutting

Designed & built in Australia by Mastering Engineer Paul Butler Tayar, The DRC is a future for vinyl cutting. Bringing a physical music medium back to the music industry, back to the mainstream.

The DRC is a Desktop Record Cutter capable of cutting vinyl and vinyl-like material. It is automated using precision engineered [modern] technology for the new user, whilst allowing custom control and modification for the experienced engineer.

“The beauty of Kickstarter for The DRC is its potential to allow us to scale up production and purchasing. We can halve the sell price if we receive enough backing” – Paul Tayar

“our cutter is the first of its design, a hybrid analog / digital system with huge potential” – Paul Tayar

With CNC, 3D Printing, 3D Scanning and CAD Design in-house, Machina.Pro has taken control of the entire manufacturing chain, allowing incredibly fast advancement.

“While vinyl sales account for only a small fraction of the overall industry revenues, they have seen an increase in recent years in some key markets. In the US, vinyl sales increased by 32 per cent in 2013 (Nielsen Soundscan), and in the UK, they increased by 101 per cent in 2013 (BPI)”. – IFPI
