Integrated solution enables real-time program visibility, data-driven program management and meaningful customer relationships

Spokane, WA— October 29, 2014—Ecova, the total energy and sustainability management company, today announced the Ecova Efficiency Platform, a cloud-based solution providing integrated data analytics, real-time performance visibility and actionable insight to help utilities deliver programs that maximize energy savings and increase customer satisfaction.

The Ecova Efficiency Platform consolidates utility energy efficiency program data and operational activities into one platform, streamlining operations and providing greater insight across a utility’s portfolio of energy efficiency products and services for ongoing program optimization. Sophisticated analytic technology combined with Ecova’s expertise enables strategic, targeted and personalized customer engagement to increase participation and improve customer experience.

“Changing energy efficiency regulations, demands for clean and inexpensive power, and increased availability of distributed generation technologies have challenged the utility industry to deliver cost-effective efficiency programs that enable deeper energy savings and enhanced customer satisfaction,” said Ted Schultz, senior vice president of utility solutions at Ecova. “Ecova’s experience and expertise coupled with the Ecova Efficiency Platform provides utilities with the data and tools needed to gain the most value out of these programs and ultimately reach their efficiency goals.”

FLEXIBLE AND EFFICIENT SOLUTION

The Ecova Efficiency Platform is adaptable to client needs and designed to provide real-time visibility to enable efficient program decisions. Its robust cloud-based reporting provides utilities with actionable program analytics, while its flexible delivery system can be rapidly deployed and easily customized to specific client goals and design requirements (such as hard-to-reach populations or regional needs).

The Ecova Efficiency Platform’s architecture enables Ecova’s Retail Lighting programs to be launched 37 percent faster with 20-30 percent lower setup costs. Ecova successfully launched an industry-leading, LED Retail Lighting program for a utility client in the Southwest by fusing point-of-sale and in-store market data to fuel precise management of incentive levels and sales volume by product mix and geographic distribution. This resulted in a 42 percent increase in kilowatt hours (kWh) savings through the incentive optimization.

PROVEN RESULTS

The Ecova Efficiency Platform delivers results for Ecova clients in Single Family and Multifamily Home Energy Improvement, Retail Lighting and C&I Midstream Lighting programs across the country. A large utility in the Northeast has recently launched five of its residential and commercial programs on the Ecova Efficiency Platform. The utility leverages the Ecova Efficiency Platform’s comprehensive functionality including its incentive processing, customer database management, trade ally management, reporting dashboard and online rebate application portal.

The online rebate application portal provides specialized workflows designed for the programs’ two target audiences – customers and contractors – and supports applications for appliances as well as contractor-installed equipment. The solution takes a complex equipment rebate and makes it easy for customers with a guided experience that includes built-in validations and real-time feedback. Contractors also manage many rebates for their customer base leveraging features that are designed for their power-user needs. The online rebate application portal directly integrates with the incentive processing engine, eliminating inefficiencies in paper processing and benefitting customers through automated confirmation emails, online status tracking and a 25 percent faster turnaround.

UNPARALLELED EXPERTISE

Ecova has nearly two decades of experience helping utilities and their customers meet energy and savings goals, delivering more than 90 terawatt hours (TWh) of energy savings in the past ten years. Nearly 40 utilities across the country currently enlist Ecova to develop and implement best-in-class energy efficiency programs – including a focus on optimized program delivery, a superior customer participation experience, greater cost effectiveness, and wider and deeper program adoption – and Ecova experts are knowledgeable in turning data into insights and action.
