Elcoteq SE, an electronics manufacturing player, will introduce its electronics manufacturing services in India at Electronics Next India 2010 shortly.

Elcoteq SE products comprise consumer electronics devices such as mobile phones and their accessories, set-top boxes, flat panel TVs as well as system solutions products such as infrastructure systems, modules and other industrial segment products.

The company provides close service network to its customers and the end markets of their products. It has a facility in Bangalore to support customers in the whole life cycle services.

Elcoteq recently announced that it would provide Nokia’s customers with after-sales services for Nokia devices. Professionals from Elcoteq’s group and the Bangalore plant will be available during Electronics Next India 2010.

Elcoteq’s representatives will also speak at a panel discussion and at two specific Elcoteq seminars. On the first day of the seminar on February 24, Patrik Ahgren, Vice-President, APAC Sales and Business Development of Elcoteq, will go into ways on optimizing total cost of ownership by outsourcing to India.

On February 25, Yogesh Sarin, Supply Chain Manager of Elcoteq Electronics India Pvt. Ltd., will speak on the importance of localization in India and share Elcoteq’s practical experience in developing the local supply chain.

The domestic production of electronic goods is currently worth $20 Billion in the country and has the potential to reach $ 85 billion by 2014, according to industry estimates.

Electronics Next India 2010 aims at highlighting the need of the industry in India by giving the much needed exposure through showcasing the best of innovations in technology worldwide.

The maiden edition of the three-day International Exhibition and Conference on Electronics Manufacturing Services will open at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, on February 24.

Electronics Next India 2010, supported by the Electronic Industries Association of India, Indian Printed Circuit Association, MAIT, TEMA, CEAMA among others, will cover the entire gamut of the electronics manufacturing industry in India.

Ernst &Young has projected that India can target a share of 1% in North America, 2% in Western Europe, 4 per cent in Asia and 5 per cent in the rest of the world of the electronics manufacturing services market. Thus, India can target 2.2 per cent of the world-wide electronics EMS market of US$497 billion which works out to US$11 billion.
