IDT’s Data Converters Also First to Perform JESD204B Interoperability Testing at 12.5 Gbps, Enabling Wider Bandwidth Support and Easing Board Routing Requirements in Multi-carrier Broadband Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif., November 21, 2013 – Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT®) (NASDAQIDTI), the Analog and Digital Company™ delivering essential mixed-signal semiconductor solutions, today announced that it has achieved JESD204B interoperability between Xilinx’s JESD204 LogiCORE™IP in the All Programmable Kintex®-7 FPGA and IDT’s ADC1443D /ADC1453D analog-to-digital (ADC) and DAC1658D / DAC1653D digital-to-analog (DAC) data converter products. IDT is the industry’s first supplier to complete JESD204B interoperability testing with Xilinx for both ADC and DACproducts, and is also first to perform JESD204B interoperability testing at 12.5 Gbps – enabling wider bandwidth support and easing board routing requirements in multi-carrier broadband applications.

The JESD204 is a high-speed serial interface designed to connect ADCs and DACs to logic devices, offering the advantage of improved system integration and modularization, reduced PCB complexity and cost, smaller and lower-cost device packages, deterministic latency capability, and easier multi-channel synchronization. IDT’s ADC1443D / ADC1453D and DAC1658D / DAC1653D high-speed data converters offer proven interoperability with Xilinx’s JESD204 LogiCORE IP in the Kintex®-7 FPGA, allowing system designers to take advantage of these benefits in next-generation communication infrastructure.

JESD204B interoperability between Xilinx FPGAs and both ADCs and DACs is an important milestone for this new standard,” said Harpinder Matharu, senior product manager, Xilinx Communications Business Unit. “Xilinx and IDT now offer manufacturers the confidence to take advantage of JESD204B and all the benefits that the standard offers.”

IDT has been an early adopter and leader in the development of high-speed data converters with the JEDEC JESD204A andJESD204B digital interfaces,” said Younes Fada, marketing manager of High-speed Data Converters at IDT. “We are pleased to be the first to achieve interoperability testing with Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGAs for both our ADC and DAC products. In addition, we are the first to successfully test speeds up to 12.5 Gbps. Along with our JESD204B-compliant RFPLL and clock buffer solutions, IDT provides the most complete JESD204B data converter and timing solution on the market.”

Achieving JESD204B interoperability between data converters and logic devices is an important step in the promotion and adoption of this next-generation technology. The joint interoperability lab testing successfully validated JESD204B subclass 0 and subclass 1 (deterministic latency) functionality by running a comprehensive set of tests between IDT’s ADC1443D/53D andDAC1658D/53D devices and the Xilinx Kintex-7 XC7K325T FPGA. Xilinx JESD204 LogiCORE IP is the industry’s first JESD204B soft IP that supports continuous line rates from 1 Gbps to 12.5 Gbps on 1 to 8 lanes using GTX or GTH transceivers in Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC, Kintex-7 and Virtex®-7 28nm devices and GTP transceivers in the 28nm Artix®-7 FPGA family. Xilinx JESD204B IP can be configured as a transmitter or receiver and supports transceiver sharing between a transmitter and receiver link.
