New Website Promises Fame
Press Release by: famesource

LOS ANGELES, April 12, 2007–
Aspiring artists and enthused fans of the hit television program “American Idol” now have another- wider - venue for promoting up-and-coming talent.
Famesource.com is a new online social network where stardom hopefuls in all genres can seek exposure and get feedback from patrons of the arts worldwide. The website offers a free international forum and serves a wide range of talents, from hip-hop music and runway modeling to ethnic dancing and improvisational comedy.
Famesource.com users create personal profiles and upload images, audio, and video of their talents for others to view and rate. Fans can cast “fame” or “shame” votes, write comments on profile pages, and use online currency called “Famebucks” to review talents and promote their favorite artists. Users with the most “fame” votes from each of the numerous categories become featured on the front page of the site, where they gain an enormous amount of exposure to everyone who visits.
“The system makes fans key players in determining who gets famous on the website” said Allen Vartazarian, co-founder of Famesource.com, “…fans and their feedback are what really determine a talent’s success,” he added.
However, artists can also promote themselves by bidding for the top spot on the “Wall of Fame,” an interesting concept that allows people to literally buy their fame.
“The website is about getting people the fame they deserve, and believe me, we truly want to make people famous,” said co-founder Anthony Zanontian, a clear tone of excitement in his voice.
The company is in talks with talent agencies and radio stations interested in observing the top-rated artists on the site.
While Famesource.com gets exposure for others, its own fame is also growing rapidly. Since the website launched on March 14th, in just three weeks, it received over 200,000 page-views and currently has 1,100 active users, an impressive start for the young entrepreneurs.
Vartazarian and Zanontian, recent University of California graduates, dreamt of more than routine “9am- 5pm” jobs. Last July, the close friends realized their plans for a joint business venture and launched the development phase of Famesource.com. “It is all about talent. We want people who have the dream, and we want to help them get there,” added Vartazarian.
