To raise funding for an independent film, actor Christopher Logan (Saving Silverman, Connie & Carla, Tron Legacy, Alcatraz), has produced a 160-page Coffee Table Book of top DRAG stars shot by fashion photographers.
‘dr.a.g.‘ for ‘dressed as girl’ is a 28 x28 cm square and features top names in impersonation (Frank Marino, Eddie Edwards, Mr. Kenneth Blake), the New York Drag Scene (Lady Bunny, Joey Arias, Charles Busch, Hedda Lettuce, Sherry Vine), cast from RuPaul’s Drag Race (Shannel, Nina Flowers, Bebe Zahara Benet, Ongina, Tammie Brown, Raja, Chad Michaels), Canadians Christopher Peterson, Mado), Australian’s Courtney Act, Maxi Shield and Philmah Bocks and even Mexico City’s Carlos Bieletto, Belgium’s Joan Jullian, iconic Marilyn impersonator Jimmy James, and even legendary drag icon Jim Bailey.
Fashion and celeb photographers Mike Ruiz, Magnus Hastings, Peter Palladino and Ann Brown are among those featured, as well as Austin Young, who shot Pop Glam Star Jeffree Star for the cover.
The book is available worldwide from Tectum Publishers and has sold over 5000 copies in it’s first few weeks, all with no advertising, just a word of mouth and Facebook campaign.
With dr.a.g., Christopher hopes to create a platform to raise film funding from, all while getting a beautifully shot, positive and uplifting book on drag out into the world.
