Innovative Technology Leader Receives Women in Business Award

(August 14, 2008) – HumanCentric, Inc., a full-service, integrated product development services company, announces today Sheila Crosby is the recipient of Triangle Business Journal’s 2008 Top 25 Women in Business award. Crosby was honored in the innovation category for her extensive work growing the company’s design department. More than 500 business executives attended the luncheon Aug. 6 during the 11th Annual Women in Business Awards.

Crosby has been a driving force behind several significant project initiatives including the Supported Living Room Conference in Washington, D.C. that allowed human factors professionals and industrial designers to collaborate on how to design better home-based healthcare products and systems. In addition, she has helped triple the number of design projects for the company, as well as increase HumanCentric’s design staff nearly 40 percent.

Crosby has more than 15 years of experience in the design of global user interface platforms and the development of various products in the domains of consumer electronics, telecommunications and e-commerce. Her areas of concentration are industrial design, interaction and graphic design, user interface design and design research.
