‘Birmingham’s ‘Best Kept Secret’!

West Midlands’ superstar Jamelia has agreed to join CMAT Recording Studios (Handsworth, Birmingham) to re-launch a new phase in the life of the internationally renowned Hollick & Taylor Studios. Following a major refurbishment programme that maintained many of the innovative sound qualities that made the studios famous since the 50s, CMAT has spent over £1.5m to ensure that Birmingham and the West Midlands retain a leadership role in producing quality music of all genres.
According to Dolapo from Jamelia’s office,

“When I spoke to Jamelia about this invitation, we both couldn’t stop talking about how great it is now to have a quality studio in the midlands area. Leading on from this Jamelia would love to attend as a special guest for your official media launch”

The studios in Grosvenor Road, Handsworth has been ‘rocking & rolling’ for the past FIVE decades and has an unmatched track record in the musical life of Birmingham. Many of music’s biggest names have launched albums or recorded here, including Sir Cliff Richard, Noddy Holder, Steel Pulse, Roy Wood, Raymond Froggatt and Jimmy Cliff to name a few.

Today, CMAT’s Studio 1 is the largest live recording space in the West Midlands (over 88sqm) including a Kawai Baby Grand Piano. Its Control Room has an SSL AWS 900+ analogue console and some of the finest outboard equipment available to compliment the ProTool HD3 Accel digital recording and editing system on a Mac Pro.
