Leading Lady Legacy Conference & Book Signing WOWS Fort Campbell:

Empowers Women & Men with Resiliency, Inspiration, Relationship, Business and Health Techniques

October 12, 2014 Fort Campbell, KY.  On Saturday, October 11, 2014, the Leading Lady Legacy empowerment conference and book tour came to Fort Campbell and empowered attendees with leadership, health, spirituality, resiliency, and relationship techniques.  Alberta Lampkins, CEO of AL Savvy Publications, hostess and on-site coordinator of the event, did an incredible job selecting the local speakers for this tour stop.

Elder Meaghan Davis began the program with inspirational advice as to the spirit within our legacy stating, “There is great responsibility in being a Leading Lady – to one’s self and others.  Being a Leading Lady doesn’t mean you have it all together.  It means you are determined to keep moving through your struggle – putting one foot in front of the other.”

Publisher Alberta Lampkins then impressed upon attendees the importance of having a plan – in matters big and small.  “We have the power within us to do whatever it is we want to do.  But we must plan so we may identify problems, assess risks, and create solutions.  And we must change the way we think so that instead of seeing ‘lack’, we think of ways out of the space that is lacking.  We have to move.”

Wellness Expert Beverly Tate then opened our eyes to an ancient truth: “You can have all the money in the world, but if you’re sick, it means nothing.”  She also shared that, “Being sedentary is the new cigarette.  Working out for an hour a day is totally negated if you don’t move for the rest of the day.  You have to get up and move!”

Resiliency Guide Veronica Martin then shared the resilience and determination of our Legacy. “Resilience is not just one thing.  It’s the culmination of your determination to keep going.  I had to choose to be positive, to bounce back after setbacks.  YOU determine that you want a good life and that today is a good day.”  Further, Mrs. Martin said, “You can’t be everything to everybody.  Sometimes you have dial back to rejuvenate and remove heavy responsibilities from your plate.”

Love Maven Cynthia Walton of Giving Good Love delighted the crowd with her relationship advice that included, “Men love a confident woman, but not a cocky woman.  They want the same things that women want: love, affection, appreciation, and attention.” “Love begins with you. Begin with self-affirmations.  Then you’ll be ready to be ‘damzeled’.”

Leadership Champion and conference organizer Lynita Mitchell-Blackwell then thanked everyone for their attendance, and gave everyone in the audience a prime directive: “The Leading Lady Legacy begins and ends in love.  Love for self allows you to be strong and loving to others.  If you don’t remember anything else from today, please remember that.  YOU are the woman – the person – you’ve been waiting for all of your life.  Love YOU first so that you may love others well.”

Small Business Expert and CEO Sonji Willingham did a masterful job as Mistress of Ceremonies, keeping the audience engaged and excited about the beautiful door prizes and moving the program smoothly to conclusion.
