Jasmine Lynn was a 19-year-old African American college student, while walking with friends, was struck and killed by a stray bullet on the campus of Clark Atlanta University. Police said Jasmine Lynn, of Kansas City, Mo., was struck in the chest when shots were fired during a fight nearby. In addition to being an honor roll student she was an aspiring singer and the first in her family to attend college.
After writing a song for Jasmine Lynn and performing it at Morehouse’s Homecoming, musician Leaf felt like she needed to do more.
“The senseless murders of Jasmine Lynn and Chicago student Derrion Albert has urged me to do something more. When tragedies like these happen in our communities we all need to come together, show support to the families and turn the situation around. We need to continue the conversation and dialogue of peace reach out and mentor our young people.”
Leaf welcomes support and attendance from students, families, community organizations, entertainment industry professionals and media.
