Military Hugs From Home – Gifts and Gift Baskets from Healing Baskets, Inc

Manchester, USA, March 02, 2010 — It’s my job to pour my heart into every basket we create, here at Healing Baskets – even as the CEO of the company! Of all the baskets I’ve had the privilege to create, however, the Military Hugs From Home Basket is definitely one of my favorites. Every loving piece of it – from the Home Baseball and Parlor Football games (which come in cute vintage tins with all the pieces, instructions and history of the game) – made in the USA, of course – to our signature finish, the Angel Blessing Charm (to remind your loved one of the friend who sent them the basket). Every item in this basket says home.
Home. Home can be really far away for these brave men and women. But the bottom line, and what this basket really translates, is that HOME is where the HEART is. It is the love of a mom or a dad. It is the hug of a child. It is the thoughtfulness of a stranger who simply wants to say thank you. HOME is with each of them, right at that moment. And having a small role in carrying a tiny piece of home to a serviceman or woman far away, well that’s something that I cherish.
One way that we can ALL support a soldier is through Soldier’s Angels. Soldiers’ Angels is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides aid and comfort to the men and women in the US armed forces and their families. Founded by the mother of two American soldiers, Soldiers Angels has built their own army – over 200,000 Angel volunteers to assist veterans, wounded and deployed personnel and their families in a variety of cool ways.
One that’s very close to our hearts, at Healing Baskets, is the adopt-a-soldier campaign. Through this program, an individual, group or family can “adopt” a soldier and commit to sending care packages every few weeks. These can be home-made goodies or a variety of store-bought items that the military doesn’t supply to our men and women in uniform (Soldiers Angels provides a list of these suggested everyday items, such as body wash and toothpaste).
Another great way to support this program, without taking on the responsibility of a long-term “adoption” is to send a one-time care package. This way, you can have the fun of assembling a great care package whenever you have the opportunity, without having the expense and concern of a big commitment. OR, you can simply reach out to us, at Healing Baskets, and we can send it for you – sending a Military Hugs From Home Basket is an obvious and wonderful choice. To get a hero’s address for a one-time care package, email the coordinator at Soldiers Agnels: donnasoldiersangels@gmail.com.
Here’s to ALL of our military – our current servicemen and women, our veterans, and to their families. THANK you for everything you do to support a better world. caroline@healingbaskets.com, (978) 526-1229
