NEW YORK, NEW YORK, February 2, 2015 – The Pasteur Foundation, the U.S. affiliate of the French-based Institut Pasteur, announces that it has appointed Mireille Gillings, PhD., to its Corporate Board of Directors. Dr. Gillings joins six other Directors, bringing her entrepreneurial business acumen and philanthropic leadership to the Corporate Board.

Dr. Gillings is a veteran of the biotechnology industry and is a published academic in the field of neuroscience. In 2004, she founded HUYA Bioscience International and has since led this privately-held company to become the global leader in developing biopharmaceutical product opportunities originating in China. Dr. Gillings was the first to establish extensive collaborations with Chinese academic and commercial biopharmaceutical organizations to create value in worldwide markets for China-sourced novel biopharmaceutical compounds.

In addition to her affiliation with the Pasteur Foundation, Dr. Gillings serves on the Quintiles Board, a Fortune 500 company; is a vice-chair and co-founder of GHO Capital, a private equity fund specialized in global health; and serves on the Senté Board of Directors. She holds a Ph.D. from Radboud University Nijmegen.

“Dr. Gillings is at the forefront of creating dynamic and exciting collaborations in the health field and we are pleased that she has agreed to join the Foundation’s Corporate Board as she brings both industry expertise and her passion for discovery to our efforts. We are honored to have her serve in this capacity,” said French-based Institut Pasteur President, Christian Bréchot, MD, PhD.
