MOBIBO CONTINUES TO EXPAND IN METRO DETROIT Locally Developed Smartphone App Evolving from User Feedback
PLEASANT RIDGE, Mich., November 9, 2011 — Locally developed smartphone app Mobibo has shown strong, consistent growth since its initial launch at Royal Oak’s Arts, Beats & Eats over Labor Day weekend. Mobibo is a free app that pays its users for viewing exclusive advertiser discounts.
Mobibo (a short form of Mobile Billboard) is the smartphone app that alerts its users when they are in close physical proximity to one of their advertiser’s retail discounts. For simply viewing the offer, the user is paid 25 cents, which is redeemable through a PayPal account. The time sensitive discount can be redeemed, but the user is paid regardless.
Having recently achieved over 10,000 downloads in Metro Detroit and over 1,500 “Likes” on Facebook, Mobibo has proven it has staying power and has responded as such by listening to their users’ feedback online to provide a broader, more rounded service.
Encouraging their users to interact with their Facebook page, Mobibo has been able to obtain feedback that has directed the Mobibo sales team to potential advertisers that are popular with their fan base, as well as expanding on the app’s functionality. Advertisers have begun to promote events, charities and other public service campaigns with the Mobibo app.
“We know what we want from Mobibo, but our goal has always been to create something that would please as many people as possible. Social media creates a fantastic forum to gather that feedback,” said Zachary Ball, the developer of the app, along with brother Josh. “We want to know what they like about Mobibo, but more importantly, what else they would like to see from it.”
