Rise in Drug Resistance of Deadly Infections Linked to Malnourishment and Cellucide

Nevada, USA. December, 2009: A new study in the journal Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology reports a surge in drug-resistant strains of Acinetobacter, a dangerous type of bacteria that is becoming increasingly common in U.S. hospitals. Using data from 300 hospitals around the country, researchers at the Extending the Cure project analyzed trends in resistance to imipenem, an antibiotic often reserved as a last-line treatment. The study found that between 1999 and 2006, there was more than a 300% increase in the proportion of Acinetobacter cases resistant to the drug. “The findings are troubling because they suggest this bacteria is becoming resistant to nearly everything in our arsenal,” said Ramanan Laxminarayan, the principal investigator of Extending the Cure, a project examining antibiotic resistance at the Washington, D.C. based think-tank Resources for the Future. “There is a lot of attention on MRSA, but less on infections caused by bacteria like Acinetobacter for which there are fewer drugs in the development pipeline. While all drug resistance is of concern, it is particularly worrying in the case of bugs for which we have few treatment options.”

Researchers say the overuse of antibiotics in humans and animals has lead to a plague that killed more than 65,000 people in the USA last year. The USA uses 35 million pounds of antibiotics a year or 50% of the worldwide use of antibiotics. “This is a living breathing problem, it’s the big bad wolf and it’s knocking at our door. It’s here. It’s arrived.” says Dr. Vance Fowler, and infectious disease specialist at Duke University.John Hopkins University health scientist, Dr. Ellen Silbergeld states “there’s no doubt that drug use n farm animals is a major driver of antimicrobial resistance worldwide.” University of Illinois College of Medicine scientists state- “Genetic analysis shows that our gastrointestinal tracts are home to more than 100?000 billion (1014) individual micro-organisms ….and more than 90% of the cells in our bodies are non-human…and form a diverse and complex ecosystem with a total gene pool (microbiome) more than 100 times larger than the human genome—in effect we are hybrid “superorganisms.”

Antibiotics kill over 90% of the cells in the body leading to massive ecosystem disruption and a loss in quorum-sensing or the ability of cells to talk to one another, a process needed for the immune system to fight off and conquer viruses and superbugs. Dr. Yanick, President of the American Academy of Quantum Medicine who survived two near fatal illnesses brought on by a childhood of antibiotics, states “The body is a magnificent living, self-healing ecosystem and antibiotics are causing massive cellucide and disrupting the quorum language of immune cells, leaving us vulnerable to viruses.” To save his own life twice, Dr. Yanick had to invent quorum nutrition as a way to restore colonization of these amazing healing cells and restore human ecosystem function destroyed by the past use of antibiotics.

Today, doctors are running out of treatments for infection. However, ground-breaking research reported in Dr. Yanick’s book Quorum SuperHealing gives us hope and help that is centered around going back to nature and restoring nature’s ecosystem in the body. He states “instant quorum nourishment is the key to sparking colonization of good commensal cell bacteria lost by the nuke the microbe mindset of modern medicine.” For the first time, readers will learn the secrets of colonization and human ecosystem restoration, which, in turn, may help the body conquer invading pathogens and fight off super-bugs with greater ease and more efficiency.
