Smart Tweezers LCR-meter Popularity Grows on 5 Continents

S

Smart Tweezers from Siborg Systems Inc. is a fully automatic LCR meter with fully automatic Inductance (L), Resistance (R) and Capacitance (C) with just a touch of the component. The device has grown worldwide with new distributors offering the device in over 27 countries. With this expansion, Siborg has released new sites for users, optimized for specific regions, and the Smart Tweezers Blog. The first center for calibration has opened in Poland, and development on a new model has gotten underway.

The integration of a set of precision tweezers, a small display and a highly accurate LCR meter create the innovative Smart Tweezers electronics tester in a 2 oz. unit. With just a touch of the tips, the device gives instantaneous measurements of Inductance, Resistance and Capacitance, as well as secondary parameters such as the Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) of a capacitor. The newest model features component sorting, diode and continuity testing, designated ESR measurements with an estimated 6 times higher basic accuracy of older models. Due to a patented mechatronic design, the device features very low and well defined parasitics thus allowing Resistance and Capacitance measurements of 1 picofarad and 1 milliohm respectively, and as low as 1 microhenry while measuring for Inductance.

The new distributors of the device all offer lines of tools, consumables and equipment for the electronics industries, and agree that Smart Tweezers fits alongside their lines of products.

These new distributors include; Bokar International (USA), KT International (Indonesia), Advance Tech Services (India), Production Solutions (Poland), Dipaul (Russia), GoldTek (China), PrinTec (Netherlands), Van Device (Japan), SIBBIS International (USA), CF System Technology (Malaysia), and Newly-Tsuchiyama (Japan).

“In all electronic production lines Smart Tweezers LCR-meter comes in handy perfectly complementing powerful but sometimes hard to use bench-type electronic test equipment.” says Jason Yeh, Sales Manager at Goldtek, “Smart Tweezers LCR-meter is extremely useful tool allowing to verify results of optical inspection.”

“From the very first look at Smart Tweezers it was clearly a perfect match to our line of products. We manufacture equipment for production, rework and repair of Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) densely packed with SMT components, as small as 0.3 mm. It makes debugging of a faulty PCB virtually impossible with the use of conventional LCR-meters. Smart Tweezers™ light-weight design integrating high-precision SMT probes, accurate digital LCR-meter and an LCD display makes it easily usable by just one hand leaving the other free for taking notes or holding other tools.” says Czeslaw Ruszowski, the CEO of Bokar International.

With ever growing popularity in new countries, the Smart Tweezers Blog has been launched, offering a collection of all the latest news. Even though Siborg boasts being able to use the device without reading the manual, new websites further simplify use with a Smart Tweezers video introduction, Manual and user tips, each web page is altered for specific regions.

For existing European users, Siborg and Bokar International have placed the first center for Smart Tweezers calibration in Osielsko, Poland at Production Solutions. This new facility allows European customers that require their equipment to be calibrated a closer-to-home calibration, without long waits and costly shipping. Previously there were only 3 of these centres available, in Waterloo, Ontario, Pasadena, California, and New Delhi, India. With a center in Poland, clients don’t have to rely on a third party calibration, which does not change the coefficients, but just compares the measurement values to those of standard components. This method also does not prove that the Smart Tweezers device is working at its best.

With help from the Institute of Automation and Electrometry at the Russian Academy of Sciences, a new model of Smart Tweezers is underway. The device will still offer all the same features that have become synonymous with Smart Tweezers, such as high accuracy, instantaneous measurement results and multiple features, but will have a lower manufacturing cost.

Smart Tweezers have gained the reputation as a professional quality tool over the past 10 years of availability, today they are used by many major high tech companies worldwide.
