ATLANTA – February 22, 2011 – The Technology Association of Georgia, the state’s leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia’s technology industry, today announced it has named Becky Biggs as the director of public relations and Georgia’s technology evangelist. In this role, Biggs will spearhead strategic communications initiatives to spread the word about the state’s rich technology scene, as well as to promote TAG’s industry-leading programs and events.

“Georgia has a deeper footprint in technology than I think most people realize,” said Tino Mantella, President of TAG. “So we are extremely pleased and excited to add Becky to our growing team at TAG. As an experienced communicator, she, in collaboration with our many partners, can help us tell the stories that will lead to our ultimate goal of making Georgia one of the top five technology states in the nation.”

“Working in technology communications for more than five years, I have witnessed the evolution and expansion of technology business in Georgia,” said Biggs. “But there still exists an untapped opportunity to share the news about the innovation and job creation happening in Georgia’s technology community every day. I am excited to join the team at TAG and work with our member companies to bring these stories to life and paint a full picture about the growth and economic impact of Georgia’s technology scene.”

Prior to TAG, Becky was a member of the Technology and Digital practices for global public relations firm, Cohn & Wolfe, where she was responsible for leading and implementing strategic marketing and public relations initiatives for companies on a local and national level.
