“Community Development Program” will provide the development of new schools and water reservoirs

PRAGUE, May 18th, 2011 – The Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park in Mozambique was able to collect a satisfactory amount of material donations and financial resources from its sponsors through its “Community Development Program”. This enabled the start of one of the relatively demanding development projects in Mozambique. The donations from the charity drive will now be used to start the construction of a new elementary school in Mavue and a reservoir for drinking water in the area.

Construction of a new elementary school in Mavue has begun in April 2011 and for the residents in the area there is also a project in the making for the development of a new drinking water reservoir. In the upcoming months the residents of the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park can look forward to the completion of first buildings and the full completion of these ambitious projects. The realization of the development in Mavue is provided by a team of specialists and workers from Europe. A number of local residents are also actively involved in the construction.

The “Community Development Program” stands on a close cooperation between the local community and countries in Europe. Its main mission and objective is to help the local population with its development, provide the local population with sufficient water supply, help the children get an elementary education and to overall improve the current unsuitable living conditions,” says Dana Neumanová, Community Development Program Coordinator.

The “Helping Africa” charity drive is part of the community development projects
One of the vital parts of the program of community support is also the public charity drive called “Helping Africa”, which is currently going on in Europe. A number of corporations and organization have already provided practical material aid in the form of healthcare supplies, children’s clothing, shoes, toys, but also financial resources. The “Help the Children of Africa” program has also received aid for example from BMW Invelt, a top authorized partner of BMW AG in the Czech Republic. Financial aid from the mining corporation Tramincorp made possible the development of an elementary school and a water reservoir in Mavue.

The community development program at the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is an ambitious project, which has set for itself a series of objectives and key milestones. Thanks to the financial help from all the donors, it is also able to complete other demanding project, which the national park has in store.
