The ABA has approved Edcomm Banker’s Academy’s Ethics training course for continuing education credits towards achieving the CBT certification.

New York, NY, October 21, 2008 — The American Banker’s Association (ABA) has approved Edcomm Banker’s Academy’s bank training course, Ethics: Code of Conduct, for continuing education credit offerings. Ethics: Code of Conduct helps bank professionals to earn credit towards achieving or renewing their Certified Bank Teller (CBT) certification.

The CBT certification formally recognizes professionals working in the financial industry and supports their efforts at continuing their education and development. The CBT certification helps tellers to become knowledgeable and skilled at teller operations, sales and service, banking basics, specific business competencies, and ethics. Edcomm Banker’s Academy’s Ethics: Code of Conduct helps bank professionals earn their CBT certification by covering topics such as: Bank Property, Insider Trading, Use of Information, Outside Activities, Code of Conduct Violations, Reporting Code Violations, Conflicts of Interest, Use of Position, Prohibited Financial Interests, Gifts and Entertainment.

Ethics: Code of Conduct communicates the laws, policies and procedures that govern every action of every employee at the bank, reducing the risk of costly litigation and corporate image damage. Ethics: Code of Conduct provides comprehensive online Code of Conduct training for all bank employees, from the executive team to the entry-level employee. It informs participants about what is and is not acceptable business behavior, and what is expected of all bank employees. Ethics: Code of Conduct provides the legal policies that affect all employees, and it also underscores the ethical responsibilities of each individual employee to the bank.

Since 1875, the American Bankers Associations has been dedicated to representing banks of all sizes on issues of national importance for financial institutions and customers. The ABA brings together all categories of banking institutions to best represent the interests of the financial industry. With a membership comprising of community, regional and money center banks and holding companies, as well as savings associations, trust companies and savings banks, ABA reigns as the largest banking trade association in the country.
