AISECT Ltd. awarded NASSCOM Emerge 50 LEADER

AISECT Limited, established in 2006, today India’s leading Education, Training, Services and e-Governance network, has won the first NASSCOM Emerge 50 Leader Award. The NASSCOM EMERGE 50 is an initiative which aims at identifying and honoring the Emerging companies that are redefining the benchmark of excellence for the next generation of SMEs. The award function was held at the Le Meridian, New Delhi on Friday, August 28, 2009.

Mr. Santosh Choubey, Chairman and Managing Director and Founder of AISECT, on winning this honor said, “It is a matter of great pride for of us, here at AISECT to win the NASSCOM Emerge 50 Leader Award. This award gives us an opportunity to showcase our unique value proposition and create distinct a space for ourselves. It is not only a recognition for our work and efforts but a stepping stone to our forthcoming initiatives in our endeavor to take Education and Services through ICT to the last mile. “

Nominations were invited from Emerging companies across four distinct categories namely; EMERGE Growth, EMERGE Markets, EMERGE Services and EMERGE Products. AISECT LTD received the Jury’s pick award on account of its unique value proposition and accomplishments in both the Market and the Growth Category.

Founded in 1985, AISECT has been known for its indispensable contribution towards the growth and development of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the rural and tribal areas of the country. AISECT Ltd., the brainchild of Mr. Santosh Choubey, has been educating and training over 1, 00,000 students in 6,500 centres across 27 states and 3 union territories through a host of software, hardware and vocational courses. Developing courseware in regional languages is also a core area of expertise of AISECT Ltd.

In a rather interesting coincidence, the genesis of AISECT Ltd. was marked with the winning of the NASSCOM I.T Innovation Award in 2005. The award was in recognition of AISECT’s innovative efforts and pilot work in promoting information and communication technologies in rural and tribal areas of the country. AISECT is also the recipient of prestigious awards such as The Indian Innovation Award and The National e-Governance Award and the i4d Award. The World Bank – IIM (A) report recognised the AISECT model as highly sustainable and scalable in India’s socio-technological.
