The recent floods in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka is the worst in living memory and is described as a national calamity in India. The rain and flood havoc that began 30 Sep 2009 have killed more than 230 people in southern India have left 2 million others homeless. The loss to crops, homes and infrastructure has been estimated at 260 billion rupees.

SARDS has initiated relief work for the flood affected communities in Kurnool and Guntur Districts of Andhra Pradesh. SARDS has appealed to all generous hearts to extend their support and donations to arrange necessary assistance to the flood victims with a special focus on children, women and other vulnerable/down trodden people to ensure speedy recovery and rehabilitation.
