Artistic Academy participated in a prom themed design competition. Cosmetology and aesthetics students work in teams to create winning looks for prom and showcase their talent. The students are challenged to combine their hairstyling and make-up skills to create the perfect prom style. The winners’ circle features fantastic and technically well executed looks. These styles offer potential clients of the Senior Student Salon and Spa a preview of what the students can do for their prom look.
Artistic Design Day
Spring is in the air at Artistic Academy in Morris Plains, NJ. To celebrate the season, Artistic Academy’s cosmetology and aesthetics students chose “The Prom” as the theme for Artistic Design Day. During Artistic Design Day cosmetology and aesthetics students compete in teams to put together a winning look, in this case, prom. The students apply their knowledge of make-up, hairstyling, and beauty culture to put together some amazing styles.
The Competition Heats Up
A few days before the event, senior as well as underclass cosmetology and aesthetics students are placed into teams. The teams are then given their assignment and allowed some time to brainstorm. As the teams inventory their collective supplies and consult their color palettes the winning looks come together. Many students even choose to sample from their personal wardrobes in order to compliment the hairstyle and make-up choices in order to complete the design from head to toe.
On the Runway
After extensive work, all of the fine details are finally addressed; the models are ready to walk. The teams gather eagerly, abuzz amongst themselves about their own designs and anxiously waiting to see what the competition has come up with. The models parade in front of the audience of classmates and staff members. Each look was uniquely created by these teams of Artistic Academy students utilizing Depasquale Salon Systems’ inventory of high quality professional products. The judging is tough, there can be only so many prize winners, though each look turned heads.
Prom at the Senior Salon and Spa
