Ashtanga Yoga is an effective method of yoga practice, which is designed to restore the body to a radiant state of health. The Ashtanga practice includes postures as well as vinyasa(specific movements initiated by the breath, which connect one posture to the next). The practice develops heat, which purifies the body and nadies(the energy channels underlying the physical form). Through a continuous refinement and awareness of the breath, the mind is returned to a balanced, meditative state. Stress reduction, excess weight loss, and a general sense of well-being are natural side effects of Ashtanga Yoga practice.

The course includes daily Ashtanga Yoga practice, in which the postures of the primary series will be introduced sequentially, one posture preparing the body for the subsequent posture. The principles of Mulah Bandha(the root lock), Drishti(the gaze) and Oujaii Pranayama(the sound induced breath) will be applied throughout the postures and vinyasa. Morning meditation and an afternoon restorative asana practice will also be offered each day. This retreat is open to beginners as well as seasoned practitoners of yoga.

The retreat will take place at a peacefull ocean-side resort on the lush and tropical south east coast of Hawaii. Three delicious organic vegetarian meals will be served each day.

Hawaii is one of the premier travel destinations on the planet. At the retreat center you can witness hot lava entering the ocean, enjoy a Lomi Lomi massage, stretch out on a black sand beach or swim just offshore with visiting dolphins in their natural environment, explore secluded waterfalls, visit steam vents, thermal springs, snorkel with turtles, and much more.
