The Edcomm Group Banker’s Academy has made updates to its Health Savings Account (HSA) training programs to include the new limit that an individual may contribute to his/her HSA accounts.

New York, NY, February 04, 2009 — The Edcomm Group Banker’s Academy has made updates to its Health Savings Account (HSA) training programs to reflect the recent inflation in the contribution limit for HSA accounts. Focus on HSAs and Focus on Consumer Driven Healthcare Plans, which are available for banks, credit unions and other financial institutions, have been changed to include the new limit that an individual may contribute to his/her HSA accounts.

According to the recent updates, High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) coverage now allows those with self-only coverage a $1,500 minimum deductible and a $2,300 minimum deductible for those with family coverage. Additionally, annual deductibles and other out-of-pockets costs cannot exceed $5,800 for self-coverage and $5,800 for family coverage. Finally, HSA contributions can be made to the maximum amount of the HDHP deductible for $2,999 for self-only coverage and $5,800 for family coverage.

Focus on HSAs is a comprehensive eLearning program that provides training on selling and servicing HSAs or Health Savings Accounts. Focus on HSAs emphasizes features, benefits, and requirements, while teaching associates to become trusted sources of expertise about this product for their customers.

Focus on Consumer Driven Healthcare Plans is a comprehensive eLearning program that teaches bank employees everything they need to know about the different types of Consumer Driven Healthcare Plans. Students will learn about the various options available for sale at the Bank and will gain an understanding of the similarities and differences between the CDHPs that are currently on the market. In addition, Focus on Consumer Driven Healthcare Plans covers Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Medical Savings Accounts (MSAs), Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs).
