Perrott-Warrick Scholar and Telepathy Researcher Dr. Rupert Sheldrake explains why Skeptics have targeted his research despite increasing acceptance among mainstream scientists.

Del Mar, CA, June 25, 2008 — Join Alex Tsakiris for an interview with Dr. Rupert Sheldrake on telepathy research, psychic dogs, and the Skeptics that have tried to stifle his research. During the 30-minute interview Sheldrake analyzes the Skeptical community:

“… these are mainly people who are committed to a kind of militant/atheist worldview and, as far as they are concerned, if you allow any psychic phenomena to occur, you are leaving a door open a crack and, you know, who knows, within seconds you could have God back again and, even worse, the Pope. So, I think, for them, it’s almost like a kind of religious struggle. It’s like a crusade.”

Sheldrake also discusses a new research project at www.dogsthatknow.com aimed at replicating his animal telepathy research.

A complete transcript of the interview is available at: www.skeptiko.com/blog/?p=22.

Dr. Rupert Sheldrake is a biologist and author of more than 75 scientific papers and ten books. As a former Research Fellow of the Royal Society, he studied natural sciences at Cambridge University and philosophy at Harvard University, before returning to Cambridge, where he took a Ph.D. in biochemistry. He was a Fellow of Clare College, Cambridge University, where he carried out research on the development of plants and the ageing of cells. He is the current Perrott-Warrick Scholar and Director of the Perrott-Warrick Project.
