Scottsdale Restaurant and English Pub Takes Over Halloween with Extended Happy Hour, Bloody-Good Halloween Specials and Frightfully Fun Drinks.
Scottsdale, AZ, October 21, 2011 — How can an English pub like British Open Pub lay claim to Halloween, one of America’s most-loved holidays?
“It’s easy,” said Gregg Troilo, owner of the British Open Pub, “Halloween originated in the English Isles, is as old as the Druids and has been a part of English culture since the very beginning.
“That’s why we love to celebrate the season with lots of events and specials at the British Open Pub.”
The Halloween celebrations begin immediately with a new Happy Hour, which runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“As the days darken earlier and the night takes over, we are extending our Happy Hour to begin at 3 p.m.,” Troilo said. “That way people can get here safely before dusk, especially on Halloween night, which takes place on a Monday this year.”
Once inside, people can enjoy their choice of $3 well drinks, including Marzen, a dark ale Oktoberfest favorite by Gordon Biersch, Samuel Adams’ Octoberfest beer and Lagunitas IPA, among others.
“We have a great lineup of beers that are fall favorites,” said Melissa French, manager of the British Open Pub. “And we are always adding beers from around the world to our selection so people have new tastes to try each time they visit.”
On Halloween weekend, Saturday, Oct. 29, to Monday, Oct. 31, the British Open Pub will be decorated for the All-Hallows Eve and the waitresses and bartenders will celebrate in costume.
“We’ll be serving up scary,” French said. “And we invite everyone to join the fun, whether they’re in costume or not.”
Halloween drink specials will include $2 Bloody Brain shots, $4 Great Balls of Fire shots, $4 Meet Your Maker shots, and $3 Pinnacle Punch, a party favorite.
“These drinks look a frightful, but they are delicious enough that people will relish devouring them,” French said.
Those who order from British Open Pub’s lunch or dinner menu will also receive a treat Halloween weekend.
“We are giving away a free, traditional Halloween dessert with each meal,” Troilo said, “Candy Apples, which are a Scottish and Irish tradition, or Bonfire Toffee, which is an English tradition.”
Another October first for the British Open Pub is Ladies Night, beginning on Saturday, Oct. 22.
“We’re making Saturday night Ladies Night at British Open Pub,” said French.
Each Saturday, women can enjoy $4.50 Stoli vodkas, a variety of $5 martinis, and $4.50 grape or cherry bombers.
“We’re excited to be adding specials just for the ladies,” Troilo said.
