They are young, they are beautiful, they have a dream: wearing the crown of the Miss Italy 2008 beauty contest.
The adventure for the 224 contestants starts the 26th of August at the Grand hotel Terme Astro at Tabiano, where they will stay until the end of the competition, broadcasted live on Italian Television Channel Raiuno and hosted by TV anchorman Carlo Conti.
The thermal hotel, only a few miles from Salsomaggiore, has welcome the beauty queens coming from all corners of Italy. Waiting for them, photographers, cameramen and a crowd of onlookers. Already a winner in punctuality, Antonella Rinaldi, Miss Sasch Liguria, was the first candidate to get there and occupy one of the 115 rooms, equipped with all comfort, of the Hotel and beauty centre. All the other girls arrived during the morning. No difficulties, a little emotion and some delayed trains.
In expection of the many appointments that will keep busy the contestants of the pageant, the staff of the Tabiano hotel is ready to take care of its guests with the usual professionality and warmth.
The ancient oak tree park, the solarium, the swimming pool and. of course, the beauty farm of the Grand Hotel Terme Astro will soon become familiar to the candidates, perfect places where they could allow themselves a moment’s rest before going back to the cheerful flurry of rehearsals, pageants, photos and interviews.
First step: the traditional photos at the border of the swimming pool Leone of Salsomaggiore, which hosts the competition for the 39th time.
