Cecil “Cec” Murphey, co-author of “90 Minutes in Heaven,” and Kimberley Kennedy, WSB-TV “Hot Topics” anchor and author of the forthcoming “Left at the Altar,” will teach a one-day workshop in writing for the Christian market at the Spring Book Show in Atlanta on March 6.

Atlanta, GA, February 02, 2009 — Anvil Publishers of Atlanta has announced that two outstanding local authors will teach a day-long seminar on writing for the Christian market on Friday, March 6, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

The workshop, entitled “Authorship 201,” will focus on writing inspirational nonfiction.

Cecil “Cec” Murphey is the author or co-author of 112 books with Christian themes, including the best-selling “90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death and Life,” which he co-authored with Don Piper. Originally published by Revell in 2004, the book and related titles have more than four million copies in print in English and 32 other languages. His latest book, “When Someone You Love Has Cancer,” was released in January 2009. Cecil has also written hundreds of articles for a variety of publications. He stays busy as a professional writer and travels extensively to speak on topics such as Christian living, spiritual growth, prayer, care-giving, significant living, male sexual abuse and writing.

Kimberley Kennedy, host of “Hot Topics,” a television news magazine syndicated nationally by Cox Broadcasting’s Atlanta-based WSB-TV, is the author of “Left at the Altar: My Story of Hope and Healing for Every Woman Who Has Felt the Heartbreak of Rejection,” a memoir scheduled for February 17, 2009, release by renowned Christian publisher Thomas Nelson. The book is the inspirational true story of how Kimberley was abandoned on her wedding day by a fiancé who got cold feet. It’s the story of how she overcame that devastating event and moved on with her life, learning and growing from the experience.

Atlanta author and publisher Noel Griese, editor of the Southern Review of Books newsletter, which organized the workshop, said that people attending the Christian writing workshop get free admission to the Spring Book Show, being held at the Cobb Galleria Centre on March 6-8. The Spring Book Show is the largest bargain book and remainder show held annually in the United States.
