Central Penn Business Journal Plans Awards Breakfast to Honor Region’s Top Fifty Fastest Growing Companies

C

Harrisburg, PA (September 4, 2008) – The Central Penn Business Journal will honor the top fifty businesses that have made significant contributions to the growth, strength and success of our region during the 12th annual Top Fifty Fastest Growing Companies awards breakfast at Hilton Harrisburg on September 19, 2008, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

In order to be eligible for nomination, companies needed to have revenue of at least $500,000 in each of the fiscal years ending 2005, 2006, & 2007 and show revenue growth in 2007, as compared to 2005 (a three year period). Eligible companies had to be for-profit entities headquartered in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry or York County.

Presenting sponsor, SF&Company, calculated the nominations and then ranked the companies according to revenue growth over the three-year period of 2005-2007. Both dollar and percentage increases were taken into consideration. This ranking formula led to the recognition of the 2008 Top Fifty Fastest Growing Companies, consisting of both large and small companies.

“The Central Pennsylvania business community continues to push ahead despite the economic stories heard from other parts of the country. We are fortunate to have a solid and diverse base of well-run companies to anchor our local economy. The organizations on this year’s Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies list are stellar examples of why Central Pennsylvania is a strong center of commerce – impressive numbers and impressive growth from each of them. Congratulations to all 50 and thank you for your very important part you play in making our region’s economy vibrant,” said David A. Schankweiler, publisher of Central Penn Business Journal.

The general public is invited to attend the awards breakfast on September 19, during which the ranking of the fifty winning companies will be announced. The event will feature guest speaker Steven Zuckerman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Clipper Magazine, direct marketing business reaching 280 million American homes in over 550 markets in 31 states with full-color ads featuring money saving offers. Tickets to the awards breakfast are $45.00 and can be purchased online at www.centralpennbusiness.com/events. For more information about the program, contact Colleen Jones at the Central Penn Business Journal at 717-236-4300 or [email protected].

In addition to the awards breakfast on September 19, the Top Fifty Fastest Growing Companies will be profiled in a special supplement to the October 3 issue of the Central Penn Business Journal. The complete list of honorees will be published in ranked order, along with information on each company’s financial growth.

The Top Fifty Fastest Growing Companies event is a program of the Central Penn Business Journal and is presented by SF&Company. Citizens Bank, Highmark Blue Shield, JPL Productions, Penn Venture Partners, Corl Communications, and the Wireless Authority are sponsors of the event.
