St. Leonards, E Sussex, November 2008 – Kate Tym, a children’s books author has set up a new writing service creating bespoke wedding poetry. The business will operate under the name of ‘The Wedding Poet’. The service will be completely flexible allowing each wedding poem written to be totally tailor-made for each individual client, therefore rendering each poem completely unique.
Kate Tym noticed a gap in the market when trying to find a suitable poem for her own wedding. Realising that current wedding poetry offerings were all very generic she thought there was room for a service offering wedding poems written to order.
Using her experience as an established author, The Wedding Poet is able to write wedding poetry which is completely client led. After a period of initial consultation with the client The Wedding Poet is able to build a wedding poem or reading around the information they provide. In this way clients are provided with a wedding poem that says exactly what they want it to say but written with a degree of professionalism that they would never have been able to achieve themselves.
The service is not restricted simply to brides and grooms, any member of the wedding party can commission a poem or reading if they wish, there is even the possibility of replacing a traditional wedding ‘speech’ with a wedding poem instead.
Equally The Wedding Poet will also offer the service of writing poems for any other celebratory occasions, such as christenings and birthdays and can also cater for the sadder times in life, such as funerals and memorial services.
About Kate Tym:
Kate Tym has worked as a freelance writer and editor since 1998. Born in Essex in 1968, she spent most of her childhood in Northumberland before moving to London at the age of eighteen. She pursued a career in publishing working for Random House children’s books where she was Commissioning Editor. She has over thirty published children’s books to her name. She has written everything from pre-school board books to teenage fiction and has been published by Element, Puffin, Red Fox, QED, Pavillion and Brilliant Books. Kate now lives on the South Coast of England with her husband and three children.
