The Chosen ones, God forms The Church, the birth of religion in man

T

This is the second in a series of articles expounding on the subject of the new birth or shall we say the start of spiritual change in man towards Jesus Christ.

When last I wrote I taught from acts 13:48 and I probably should’ve started with Jn 15:16. We will look at this subject from an objective standpoint. When we talk about the new birth versus accept Christ taking a look at it from this standpoint provides a lot of clarity because it is the viewpoint from the one supposedly doing the offering. With that being said let’s get into it.

There are two key words in Jn 15:16 that should be closely paid attention to. ” Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” These two words are chosen and ordained which I have pointed out in the verse above and I will give the meanings for right now. Chosen is the word eklegomai and it means to select – the word ordained is the word tithemi and it means to place, lay, or set. This is not trigonometry it is simple blunt plain words stating you did not choose me or what if I said you did not accept me. God can’t put a any plainer he is not giving options or choices concerning the matter of whether or not a person wants to be a son of God. Now as a matter of volition you can choose to be disobedient, not choosing to obey his word but you cannot choose whether or not to be born. The decision regarding to be or not to be is solely the Father’s which is in heaven. I know there are some that will say he is only referring to those following him at that point in time and now say unto them are they any different than those following him right now ? No they are not in fact remains the same God chooses and we don’t and that’s it and that’s all. As he states in the verse he chooses and places any and all into his kingdom.
