Conservatory Outlet Gets Behind The Windows Scrappage Scheme

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) are currently petitioning the government to introduce a Windows Scrappage scheme which if it is successful would allow householders and landlords to scrap their old poorly fitted windows for a cash incentive of £1000 to be used to purchase new professionally installed energy efficient windows. The petition is currently available on the official website of the Prime Minister http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/windowscrappage.

The Windows Scrappage Scheme aims to improve the existing housing stock to reduce the CO2 emissions and to cut household energy bills. Consumers would benefit from not only lower energy bills but also a facelift for their home and £1,000 off the price. The government would benefit from reduced CO2 emissions, helping it to meet its greenhouse gas emissions targets. Currently the glass industry represents over 100,000 employees this scheme could also help to keep these workers in jobs.

Conservatory Outlet a leading supplier of uPVC windows, doors, double glazing, conservatories and orangeries are fully supporting the scheme. Matthew Glover MD at Conservatory Outlet said “There is a bit of cynicism about signing petitions, but this one really does make sense and the GGF should be applauded for their efforts here.”
