Custom Direct Expands Recycling Efforts

Custom Direct is expanding their recycling efforts to do their part in helping the environment.
Custom Direct (CD) is getting greener by expanding their current recycling efforts. The company has prided itself on being environmentally conscious from the very beginning. With the help of employee involvement, the new Green Initiative, which launched this month, will further reduce the company’s environmental footprint.

CD’s recycling partner, Canusa Hershman, recently determined ways for CD to significantly increase output of recycled materials. To continue this important green momentum and make additional environmental improvements, CD plans to capture statistics on its carbon use, energy costs and waste production.

The company first opened its doors in 1993 with its Check Gallery brand, America’s leading environmentally friendly check company. From the onset, CD has printed check on the 20% post consumer paper stock—the highest percentage of recycled paper allowed in the industry.

“We are a progressive company when it comes to being green,” said John Browning, president of Custom Direct. “We’ve been printing checks on recycled paper with vegetable-based inks for 15 years. Now we’ll be making an even larger impact, and that is truly exciting for us.”
