Wishaw man Stephen Carella has scooped the top prize at the Kwik Fit Insurance Employee of the Year awards on Saturday. The Uddingston based employer held it’s glittering annual awards event at The Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh with over 250 guests in attendance.
The Oscar-style evening, hosted by TV funnyman Craig Hill, recognised top performers from all areas of the business who have contributed to the success of the company in 2008.
As well as winning his own department’s Manager of the Year award, Stephen was overjoyed to learn he had also been selected as the company’s overall Employee of the Year, earning him an amazing £10K prize and the congratulations of the insurance intermediary’s 1000 staff.
Stephen has been working at Kwik Fit Insurance for five years and is a Team Leader in the busy Service department. Stephen said: “I couldn’t believe it when my name was read out for the Employee of the Year award. It’s a wonderful honour for me win this award. It has been a lot of hard work but it is always enjoyable and I am proud that I have helped contribute to our success.”

Managing Director of Kwik Fit Insurance, Brendan Devine presented Stephen with his award. He said: “Stephen has had an amazing year. He exceeded all his targets and he has created a fantastic working environment for his team. Stephen has worked very hard in 2008 and is our deserved employee of the year.”
As well as announcing their Employee of the Year Award, Brendan also handed out awards to 33 other employees for their contribution to 2008.
“My congratulations are also extended to all our worthy winners on Saturday night. In such tough economic times, it is important that everyone works hard to achieve our goals and to make sure we continually perform well. Those who received awards on Saturday showed great determination and commitment to this and were all deserved winners.”
Kwik Fit Insurance have been running the annual awards event for four years, reinforcing their committement to recognise the top performers across the entire company, with plans already in discussion for next year’s event.
