After a number of years out of favour, the diamond has replaced more obscure stones as the number one gem for use in engagement rings, according to the report based on evidence compiled across a broad section of online and offline jewellery retailers.
Christine Koch of DiamondRingBuyer.net suggested that it was only a matter of time before the diamond retained its crown as the most popular stone for engagement ring sales. “Let’s face it – people love elegance. The news sees other stones like rubies and emeralds relegated further down the list of popular choices for engagement rings, despite more colourful stones enjoying a number of years as the more popular types of stone for engagement ring purposes.
