Australian online travel agent, Direct Flights International, has new low-cost package deals to Germany for Australians keen to attend one of the world’s biggest and most colourful festivals – Munich’s Oktoberfest.

The giant 17-day Bavarian festival – the world’s biggest fair – runs from September 20-October 5, 2008, with its costume parades, concerts, thrill rides and beer pavilions drawing more than six million visitors each year.

The world-famous cultural festival, launched by King Ludwig in 1810, has attractions for all ages, with more than half a million sausages eaten each year. And the famous beer tents, each holding up to 8500 people, serve more than six million mugs of lager during the event. Smaller versions of Oktoberfest are also held in various countries, including Australia.

Direct Flights has new fly-and-stay deals for Australians keen to join the excitement in Munich this year. The deals, including return flights with Thai Airways to Munich, flight taxes and five nights accommodation in Munich, are priced from $2833 per person from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and from $2655 per person from Perth. *

The Direct Flights fly and stay packages are also available in Business Class – from $7269 per person from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and from $5942 per person from Perth. *

The packages are available for departures from August 16-September 19, 2008, allowing Australians to arrive in Germany for the start of Oktoberfest on September 20. Travellers can fly into or out of eight European cities serviced by Thai, including Munich and Frankfurt. All deals include flight taxes.

Bookings are available on www.directflights.com.au and there are no online booking fees, with seven flexible payment methods available.
