Another phase of the “Helping Africa” charity drive was concluded on Tuesday June 21st, 2011. More donations in the form of clothing, toys, school supplies, building material and many other goods are heading to Mavue, Mozambique. All of these donations were collected and packed at the warehouse of the partner company ESA Logistics and the shipping is provided by ATS.

The drive is organized by the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park, which supports the development and improvement of the living conditions of the population living on its territory.

The helping Africa Drive starts with material donations and continues with development projects in Mozambique

The Helping Africa event does not cover just the collection of material donations, but it also helps the community at the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park in practical ways. The projects that it organizes at the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park are being worked on just by the European donors, the local Mozambican residents are actively involved as well.

The Helping Africa project can be supported in several ways:

  • Material donations by September 25th, 2011 (clothing, toys, school supplies, etc.),
  • Healthcare supplies (medical kits and others),
  • Getting involved in specific development programs (e.g. school development, building of drinking water reservoirs),
  • Financial help in specific projects (construction of veterinary clinic, building of basic infrastructure, water treatment plant etc.)

Current information about the ongoing projects or running programs as well as projects in the making for which the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is looking for partners can be found at  www.pomahameafrice.cz.

About Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park

Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park spans across Mozambique and is one of the largest private African parks. It neighbors and fluently ties into the Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe. The primary objective for the Gonarezhou Transfrontier Park is to protect the natural wealth preserved in the area that is practically untouched by humans.

Another integral activity of this park is a sensitive, sustainable and long term development of local communities. Park activities focus on the construction of schools, hospitals, healthcare facilities, water reservoirs or the development of local infrastructure. All these steps are taken with utmost consideration for the environment while respecting the pristine state and beauty of this area.  There is a possibility to actively help this region as part of the Helping Africa charity drive.
