This year’s meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery brought thousands of eye surgeons the opportunity to hear about the success that Dr. Khoabakhsh and patient Florence Henderson have experienced with the Crystalens procedure.
San Diego, California – May 3, 2011 — The annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) brought thousands of eye surgeons together at the San Diego Convention Center this year. One of the event’s star attractions was Florence Henderson, actress of TV, film, and Broadway.
Dr. A. James Khodabakhsh presented data on Crystalens and introduced his patient Henderson to the entire conference. Dr. Khodabakhsh and Ms. Henderson spoke about her experience with the lens and then held a long question-and-answer session with doctors from all over the world.
Crystalens is a premium intraocular lens that corrects the vision of patients with cataracts. A cataract is a clouding on the lens in the eye. Intraocular lens procedures like Crystalens replace the clouded natural lens in the patient’s eye with an intraocular lens. All replacement lenses are not created equal, however, and Crystalens leads the pack in quality.
Since her successful surgery, Henderson joked, “When I’m out to lunch with friends, I’m seeing they have a lot more wrinkles than I thought they did. But I hardly ever say anything to them about it!”
Crystalens is a simple procedure that usually takes about fifteen minutes and allows for relatively fast healing. It has proven effective in many cases of cataracts as well as presbyopia (the aging eye).
