EITS Global Provides Serious Connectivity At T In The Park

EITS Global made a big splash with their debut in the UK this past month highlighted by their deployment at T in The Park, Scotland?s premier music festival. With some 85,000 guests and hundreds of staffers mucking about in the rain and mud, it is no small challenge to keep everyone connected and safe.

Among the services that EITS provided was their fully managed and converged IP solution that provided wireless high speed Internet, networking services, a voice over IP telecomm solution as well as a massive CCTV system that allowed the promoters and officials in the Joint Operations Command Center (JOCC) a birds eye view of every aspect of the campgrounds, perimeter roads and of course, the entirety of the arena.

Always looking to raise the bar with service and support, EITS created a first ever deployment of a 200 Mb fiber internet feed, the most bandwidth and fastest service ever provided to any UK festival to date. Festival organizers, emergency services providers as well as Ticketmaster and several hundred members of the media were able to access what some of the media on site were calling ?the fastest internet service that I have ever used at a large music festival?.

The key to taking so much bandwidth and making sure that everyone gets what they need is the managed service that EITS Global provides. ?You can have as much bandwidth as you can get but if you are not able to manage it properly and make sure that every department is getting their fair share, it doesn?t matter how much you bring on site.? says EITS Global?s David McWilliams. ?We had over 1200 staffers, artists and crew on our network while at the same time we were streaming a radio broadcast, enabling hundreds of media to upload stories, photos and video, serving up the 16 CCTV cameras, handling 100?s of phone calls all while making sure that Ticketmaster where able to service the four entrances that they were scanning at. We are very pleased at how it all worked out? finished McWilliams.

Apparently DF Concerts was impressed as well. Collin Rogers, festival director for DF Concerts stated, ?Honestly we were a bit concerned to turn all of these services over to one company but what EITS was able to provide to us was outstanding. The speed of the network, the access of the CCTV and the great moment-to-moment service was the best that I have ever seen. We look forward to many more festivals with EITS.?

One of the favorite features of the converged system is the ability to monitor all of the CCTV cameras on an iPad or laptop. Key personnel with the proper access were able to walk about the site with their iPad or simply sit at their desks and access any of the 16 cameras that were deployed throughout the site.

Promoters will have the opportunity to see EITS Global?s RFID and connectivity solutions in action at festivals in Australia, Europe and North America, so keep an eye open for further updates. As well as our featured festival options, EITS Global also provides a range of other services, including CCTV, Communications, RFID access control and cashless payment options.
