Federal agencies continue to search for better ways to communicate and collaborate both internally and with citizens – wikis, blogs, podcasts are slowly becoming part of the Government lexicon.

Rockville, Md. June 05, 2008 — Leading Federal contracts and Federal marketing solutions provider fedXccel is reporting that Federal agencies continue to adopt Information Technology to improve performance and deliver richer citizen services.

The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) along with the CIO Council (CIOC) have released two new reports on the progress made by Federal agencies in the area of E-Government and IT. The reports highlight last year’s accomplishments and future goals.
“Companies looking to do business with Federal agencies must align their offerings with the problems that need to be solved,” said Gaurav “GP” Pal, fedXccel Chief. “IT training, Cybersecurity and Web 2.0 are sunrise areas for Small businesses to come up with creative and effective solutions.”

The “Expanding E-Government Results” report and the Federal IT Strategic Plan for 2008-2009 provide guidance to the Federal contractor community on agency needs that include: 1) recruiting and training for a well equipped IT workforce; 2) delivering information securely and quickly to stakeholders; 3) creating Interoperable IT solutions; and 4) harnessing new technologies to better communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.

Federal agencies continue to search for better ways to communicate and collaborate both internally and with citizens – wikis, blogs, podcasts are slowly becoming part of the Government lexicon.

“Clearly the Government is adopting next generation technologies and is beginning to taste some success such as the recent test project at the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) for collecting environmental data,” said “GP”. “There are large and exciting opportunities in the Federal IT market, but companies need to do their homework and devote time to researching the market.”
