Pacific Palisades, Calif. (MAY 5, 2010) – Kid’s wall art, nursery art specialist and web seller Whimsical-Art.com http://www.whimsical-art.com will launch a line of wall art from the award-winning picture book NATHAN SAVES SUMMER. The title tells the story of the hippo Nathan who dreams of becoming the lifeguard for a small pond in Africa where the local animals vacation each summer. Concerned Nathan may be too big for the tiny area of water, each summer the animals come up with an array of excuses to discourage him. The plot’s dilemma is whether Nathan’s really too big for the job, or is his determination large enough to overcome anything.

Published by Raven Tree Press, the picture book was written by three time EMMY-nominated kid’s TV writer/producer, Gerry Renert, and illustrated by Carrie Anne Bradshaw. In addition to its Mom’s Choice® Gold-Award (in the category of Adventures, Adventurers and Heroes) the book was a Children’s Book-of-the-Month Club selection, where it was a top selling summer title. The book can also be found at most major booksellers and on iTunes via the developer, Storychimes.

Nathan and his animal friends were illustrated after research on hippos, other African animals and their environments. Bradshaw transfers sketches and paints each drawing using her preferred medium, watercolor.

Whimsical-Art.com works with internationally known whimsical artists such as Stewart Moskowitz, Michael Bedard, Peter Smith, Wooket and others. The online gallery sells everything from original paintings, limited edition giclees, posters, art prints, wall clocks and other specialty items for kids.
