FLAME Students lauded for meritorious performance at the 2nd Convocation Ceremony

Pune, May 10, 2010 – The second FLAME (Foundation for Liberal And Management Education) convocation concluded amid cheers today with 86 elated students graduating in the presence of the teachers, directors & parents. Shri. R Goplakrishnan – Director of Tata Sons graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and addressed the students at the convocation along with other guests like the founder Directors Mr. Nemish Shah, Mr. Vallabh Bhansali, Ms Anu Aga, Mr. Anil Singhvi etc.

A total of 86 students passed out and were handed out their degrees at the hands of the Chief Guest at the FLAME Campus of Lavale. From the School of Business, Gold Medals were awarded to 2 very bright students – Ms. Bani Anand & Ms. Sonal Rajapurkar. From the School of Communication, Hemal Mehta was awarded the Gold Medal. All rounder Gold Medals were awarded to Vishal N. Mehta and Aditi Upreti.

During the pre-convocation ceremony on 6th May, several awards were given out to deserving students as an appreciation of their hard work they contributed in achieving their goals.

Addressing FLAME’s graduation ceremony, Shri. R Goplakrishnan – Director of Tata Sons, said. “FLAME has emerged as a unique management institution with the concept of liberal education which would bring a shift in the conventional Indian education system. The world today is full of challenges, with no maps to guide you ahead and the students and professionals should not depend on others, but create value for the organization by working as a team and achieving greater goals. The need of today is Adaptability, desire for entrepreneurship, energy, activeness, drive, networking, and to bring in success by building the competencies of the team and the organization”.

On the occasion, Mr Parag Shah, Chairman, FLAME, congratulated the graduating students and encouraged them to work for the betterment of the society. He added, “I am very proud of each and every student who passes through the halls of this institution, and there is joy in seeing you pass into the next stage of your life as young adults. Now is the time to work towards fulfilling your dreams and aim at becoming young entrepreneurs by building your lives on a strong foundation of Ethics and Values. In an environment where competition creates a demand for effective leadership, FLAME prepares students who are able to combine industrial exposure and self learning. We wish you all the best for your future endeavor and I’m sure that every student will succeed”

The academic journey of these aspiring professionals culminated with a gala dinner, tearful celebrations and bonhomie amongst all.
