Forestry Commission to plant one million new trees

The digital media, creative content and production solution providers, Amstore have been commissioned by the Forestry Commission to help plant one million trees. Packs containing seeds and a DVD will be distributed to schools, with Amstore providing the DVD replication with card wallets made from sustainable resources in keeping with the aims of the project.

Every primary and secondary school in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland will receive the packs, including a DVD, or eco friendly promotional usb drives manufactured by Amstore in which the Forestry Commission relates information to school children regarding forests and climate change explaining the importance of forests and what losing them could mean. There will be an estimated 10 million seeds, including Scots Pine, Alder, and Silver Birch. It is hoped this action will encourage schools to plant the seeds, additionally raising awareness amongst the general public, with the News of the World providing publicity for the project.

Growing trees is one of the most cost-effective ways of improving the environment, and by early January it is hoped schools can take their shoots into communities, encouraging parks, businesses, and councils to accept them and care for them as they grow. Marcelo Bustamante, Sales Director at Amstore spoke enthusiastically of the campaign, ‘We are extremely excited to be involved in a project of this nature working with the Forestry Commission building towards a brighter future and hopefully benefiting the environment in the long term within the UK.’
