Home Buying Schemes Launched for Armed Forces Buyers

Innovative schemes designed to help members of the UK armed forces buy property have been launched. The range of schemes have been launched by Larkfleet homes, a home builder based in Bourne in Lincolnshire.

One scheme, named the Forces’ Package, enables personnel from the army, air force and navy to buy a property of their choice with 5% of their property deposit being funded by Larkfleet Homes. Personnel also receive a £500 lump sum that they can contribute towards their financial and legal fees.

A further scheme that is available and can be combined with the Forces’ Package scheme is the `Just for You’ scheme. A £2000 voucher is given to buyers allowing them to choose from a range of optional extras from a given list so they can tailor their home with their chosen finishing touches. Options that are available to armed forces’ home buyers include fireplaces, flooring, curtains, furniture and lighting. Another scheme called `The Helping Hand’ scheme offers £500 towards the cost of new home accessories.

A further incentive that has been launched from the home builder for army, navy and airforce personnel is the Armed Forces Home Ownership Scheme. This new scheme is an independent scheme designed to help members of the armed forces buy a home to suit their individual needs and required living arrangements. Home buyers are loaned between 15 and 50% of the value of a Larkfleet Homes property.

Many of the new homes are available near to army bases and armed forces operations. Larkfleet currently has several developments for armed forces personnel includng new houses for sale in Cambridgeshire and also new homes in Lincolnshire.
