HumanCentric Adds Senior Human Factors Specialists
Jenny Urban and Merrick Kossack Join the Chicago Team

CHICAGO (June 4, 2008)— Barry H. Beith, president and CTO of HumanCentric, a full-service, integrated product development services company, announces today the addition of Jenny Urban and Merrick Kossack as senior human factors specialists to the Chicago regional office. Each will be responsible for applying human factors and user-centered designs to new and existing products across HumanCentric’s key domains: telecommunication, medical, transportation, Web and software, and consumer products.

“Jenny and Merrick are sure to make a lasting impression through their positions in our newly-opened Chicago office,” says Beith. “They each bring experience from a variety of industries, and we are happy they have chosen to apply their skills with HumanCentric.”

Prior to joining HumanCentric, Urban led a team of 13 at Motorola as the principal designer and design manager, leveraging her expertise to design softkey interfaces, touch interfaces, unique product interfaces and design strategies for Motorola’s mobile devices. In addition, during the last decade she has developed experience in user profiling, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluation and user testing.

Kossack brings more than 15 years of experience working in the healthcare and medical device industry. He has served as a member of many cross-functional teams working closely with engineering, marketing, clinical affairs and regulatory agencies to develop products that are safe and efficient to use. He also has international experience, developing products for teams in various countries.

HumanCentric is founded upon a commitment to make consumer-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and safe products by studying and understanding user experiences. The ability to develop compelling and usable products is a testament to the team educated in human factors, graphic and interaction design, industrial design and engineering. HumanCentric was recently recognized by the Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) as a supplier for GE Healthcare’s giraffe infant warmer. This is the second award of this type from MDEA in which HumanCentric has had involvement.
