ICFe holds the series of ‘Project Shakti’- A swift track series of events for empowering women in North India

ICFe sponsors two day free trial sessions for women to protect themselves, in collaboration with Traditional Karate Federation of India

The Institute of Computer and Finance Executives (ICFe), the leading provider of training for financial sector, today announced its collaboration with Traditional Karate Federation of India to sponsor ‘Project Shakti – Women Empowerment Program’.

The two day program will be held at Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh from February 4th- 5th, 2009. The program is aimed at empowering women to defend against all forms of attack.

ICFe has taken the initiative for its women population present in and out of ICFe institutes. ICFe has begun this drive for the female child who is stepping out of their home for education, job or any other work.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Santosh Mangal, CMD, Institute of Computer and Finance Executives says “Feeling of insecurity penetrates into our minds as soon as we start reading and looking at the newspapers and new channels showing us the cruelty of this world. We want to give our children a world where they can fly freely without any fear of getting caught. ‘Project Shakti’ is the programme which trains women to fight against all her fears not only physically but also mentally without anyone’s help. ‘”

‘Project Shakti’ has given us a chance to serve our female population. This will give them an edge above its competing male population with whom they have to deal with in their day to day lives. In India we not only have fear of male population who can assault women for any reason but also of furious women with whom our daughters, sisters, wives, mothers, colleagues etc are living in their homes, schools and colleges’ add Mr.Mangal.

The two day Project Shakti program has unique features which empower women on body, intellect & fortitude. The two day program will help them in understanding the basics of self defence and unleash the prowess hidden within for effective repulsion of attacks.

‘The Traditional Karate is something which is not known to the people of India. Our education system is such which emphasizes mostly on theoretical education and not on physical education. We already have physical training classes in schools if karate should also be added into it as their full time course then we will not have to arrange special camps for training girl population and the half work will be done. ’ adds Mr. Rajeev Sinha, President, Traditional Karate Federation of India.
