ICFe organizes ‘Project Shakti’- A fast track program for Empowering Women
ICFe sponsors two day free trial sessions for women to protect themselves, in collaboration with Traditional Karate Federation of India

The Institute of Computer and Finance Executives (ICFe), the leading provider of training for financial sector, today announced bringing its CSR initiative ‘Project Shakti – Women Empowerment Program’ to Rajasthan. The two day program will be held at Khandelwal PG Girls College, Sansar Chand Road, Jaipur on February 16th and February 17th 2009. More then 1200 women participants along with the female faculty of college are projected for the program planned at Khandelwal PG Girls College, Jaipur. The two day program will help them in understanding the basics of self defence and unleash the prowess hidden within for effective repulsion of attacks.

“Project Shakti” is a campaign to awaken the degenerating society by strengthening the feminine consciousness and empowering them with the ability to defend against all forms of attacks. This is a programnme that is launched in association with Traditional Karate Federation of India (TKFI).

ICFe has taken this initiative for its women apprentice present in and out of ICFe institutes. ICFe is aiming to train the college going girls with the self defence techniques so that they can defend themselves from the eve teasers and reprobates. The two day Project Shakti program has unique features which empower women on body, mind & spirit. The idea is to eventually reach out to around a million girls from across the country.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Santosh Mangal, CMD, Institute of Computer and Finance Executives says “After successful completion of our ‘Project Shakti’ programme in the cities of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, now we have started this drive in Rajasthan and the first obvious stop is Jaipur. Feeling of insecurity penetrates into our minds as soon as we start reading and looking at the newspapers and new channels showing us the cruelty of this world, especially towards women. ‘Project Shakti’ is a programme which will train women to defend and fight for themselves from the reprobates who is present at every nook and corner of the country. We hope that through this initiative, Indian women will not be considered as a vulnerable and weak link of society who need people from outside to protect her interests’.

“The need of the hour is that every woman who is stepping out from the four walls of the house should be prepared to defend herself. Use of traditional Karate will empower them to effectively ward off any aggression against them by helping them learn how to deal with situations in crisis and fast track self-defence techniques. Today it’s not about ‘just self defence’ but it’s about ‘must self defence’ ” adds Mr. Rajeev Sinha, President, Traditional Karate Federation of India.
