Hyderabad, 25th October 2010: IndiaSkills, a vocational training initiative from Manipal Education, India’s leading education service provider and City & Guilds, one of the leading provider of work related assessment & qualifications in the world launched its vocational training centre at Lakshya Knowledge Park, Ameerpet today. The centre will initially offer courses in Banking, Financial Services & Insurance (BFSI), Retail and English language training, thus opening up excellent employment opportunities for the youth of Hyderabad. Youngsters with education ranging from Class XII to graduation can take up these courses that pave the way for promising careers.
IndiaSkills will also be tying up with top banking & insurance companies in India to provide employment to the first batch of students with salaries in the range of Rs 5,000/- to Rs 15,000/- per month. The BFSI course is a Diploma in Financial Advisory & Marketing Services and will enable students get employed as Financial Advisors with leading financial companies. Currently in Hyderabad & Andhra Pradesh alone, partner companies have over 950 job requirements. On a pan-India basis, IndiaSkills had mandates with over 20 leading banks, top retail firms, leading insurance firms etc to provide employment to the students on successful completion of their courses.
Commenting on the launch, Hari Menon, CEO, IndiaSkills said, “There has been a lack of work relevant education for the youth, which can help them get a job and be successful at it. This has resulted in them taking up education courses that do not immediately enhance their employability or open up any job prospects. IndiaSkills aims to bridge this gap between current education and industry needs of a skilled employee. The innovative learning model that IndiaSkills has developed helps the student in getting a well-salaried career, the employers in getting a trained & skilled employee and thus offering the government a fast-track solution to eradicate unemployment.”
All courses offered by IndiaSkills training centres are designed to provide a combination of both classroom learning and practical skills required to perform a specific job role, thus maximizing their employability opportunity. The curriculum also ensures students are productive and efficient from day one. The courses will include 120 to 200 guided learning hours, with both full time and part time options.
